Olive Oils Direct selects the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced in Italy today, all with a unique flavor. From Tuscany, Liguria, to Sicily or Naples, each region varies in weather and terrain, producing its own unique olives resulting in a special flavor Olive Oil that represents the region. We feel it is important to enjoy and try the variations, as they are all in our opinion, fabulous in their own way!
Our Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil are only made from Italian olives.
Tuscany: Tuscany’s olives are very different from any other region in Italy. It has many varieties that swing from light and fruity to heavy and robust.
Umbria: Umbria is the center of olive oil production in Italy. Trevi, Lake Trasimeno and other areas produce oils that taste anywhere from spicy to sweet. The Umbrian DOP olive oil comes from five different zones in this region.
Abruzzo: This region produces lighter olive oils than the rest of the country. Lighter refers to both the flavor and color, not caloric content.
Liguria: Olive oil saltier in flavor, less fruity and might leave a strong aftertaste. Oils from Liguria have strong flavors and are known for their strong character.
Sicily: Classical olive oils that are dense, full of flavor, and robust and gives a full taste.
Puglia: Lightly fruity with an almond aftertaste.
Sorrento: Rich in flavor with a fruity scent of the artichoke thistle and its green leaves.
